Estoy en España! Madrid!!

Hola!

I am sooo sorry I haven't written in a while but I've been quite busy with everything going on here and getting used to the time difference trying to figure out when to skype people and going out with everyone else a bit.  since I last wrote about the plane ride I figure i'll go from when we go off at the airport and the write my way through the days until now. :) Savy? Good. :)

ok so when we got off the plane we ended up having to take a bus from the plane to the airport doors where we stood in line for about 10ish minutes and then took about 5 seconds to get through customs.  It was very very nice and easy lol. the kayla and I had to wait for our luggage for probably a good 15 minutes during which we looked around and just people watched lol. When the luggage came around and we had both gotten all of ours we took over an abandonded luggage cart and put all our luggage on it. it was pretty sweet. lol  we had sooooo much luggage. and not to mention that my checked bag was absolutely huge!!  haha

It took us probably and hour and a half to get to the hostel. First we couldnt even figure out the exit to the airport and went the wrong way three times and then after that we had to find the entrance to the metro which ended up being on the complete other side of the airport! ugh it was a horrifyingly long journey lol. we had to change trains on the metro about 3 times and had to drag our luggage (we werent allowed to take the cart so this was by dragging and carrying all out baggage) up 3 sets of stairs at one point and then down one more and then when we reached our stop there were the stairs to exit the metro we also had to go up.

 We got out onto the street from our exit and then had no idea what to do because we werent given directions from there. we ended up asking someone about the la huestras and went down this hill and finally found the street we needed! only... we were in front of number 57 and needed number 21.... and number 57 was at the bottom of the hill and number 21 was at the top.  definitely the worst 20 minutes ever and i seriously thought i might die. lol  thank goodness it was morning and not near as hot out as it was that afternoon!

When we finally reached the hostel and got inside and everything we found out that we couldnt even check in until 1:30pm.. it was awful. we were sooo tired and just wanted to sleep for a bit! the girl at the front desk did let us put our luggage into the luggage room until we could check into out room and that was really nice. we were worried we might have to carry it around with us all day!

When we had checked into our room we were told that we had one roommate coming. I was a little worried that it might be someone weird but it ended up being fine. Her name is Luisina and she was very nice and fun to hang out with. She was from Argentina and we had a great time for the 2 days that Kayla and I were in Madrid with her. She is from Argentina and spoke Spanish decently and that helped us occasionally when we weren't sure of something.

Ride On the Airplane Over the Ocean!!

Ok so I am officially super tired! But as it is about 8pm right now I am waiting for the movie pirates 4 to be over before I try to sleep. Then I'll probably try to sleep through water for elephants. I've never been that interested in watching it. We had a decent dinner with a choice between chicken and pasta. Kayla and I both chose pasta because we just weren't sure about the chicken and it ended up being a good choice because a girl next to us said the chicken was awful. My battery is unfortunately only at 42% right now and I wish it was higher. I tried downloading a movie at the airport in charlotte but didn't have time and so I didn't get anything new downloaded.. I was going to download and watch tangled because I haven't seen it and I've been told it is pretty awesome. I'm excited to be arriving in Spain early to explore Madrid! Kayla and I have already discussed About going out to eat for our first night in Madrid dressed up all pretty and having a nice glass of wine or something since we can legally drink in Spain. lol I am already missing my kittens very much but it is not as bad as I had thought although I do realize that it probably just hasn't hit me yet that I won't see them for 9 months. And I'm missing all my friends! I've got my Skype running very well on my iPad and I believe that everything is in order at least as well as it can be right now. I am missing something's but my wonderful mother has agreed to send em to me through the mail.

I promise that I will definitely try to blog much more now that I am on my trip. I have been so busy trying to pack and decide what to bring these past few days as well as trying to see my friends as much as I possibly can before I left. I am going to mis everybody so much! But I believe that it will go faster than I want it to. I cannot wait until tomorrow when I will arrive in Spain and how much fun it is going to be! Although I do believe that i have too much stuff lol I tried to bring less but still somehow ended up with more than what I had. I'll probably be sending something's home with my sister when she comes to visit me. Ok well I'm going to get back to pirates 4!!! I'll write more later! :)

Alright so it is officially 10:24pm on my iPad and the movie water for elephants just got over. It was actually not bad. I never really was interested in it enough to really care about finding out what it was about. It is very sad though and has quite a bit of violence. Not the horrible kind but I guess maybe because it had animal abuse it bothered me more than normal violence? But any how we should only be a couple hours from landing now. As we were to be arriving in Madrid at about Midnight or 11pm central time. But I'm pretty sure my iPad is on eastern time because that was the last place I had internet or network for it to up grade too. I've been waiting ages for the attendant ladies to come back around so i could get some chips ahoy chocolate chip cookies! Ughhh. It's a little boring and I wish I had Internet but the movies have Ben pretty good so far and the big momma movie like father, like son is playing and I've never seen any of these movies and it looks pretty funny so hopefully by the time this is over the flight will be just about over.

All right so it is now approximately 12:48 pm in Madrid time and i believe that it is about 5:48am in central time? I am about to pass out because I am so tired which means I will have a fantabulous nap! I have padlocked my suitcase and carry ons so if someone wants in them they will just have to take the whole bag. My big one would not be worth the effort though I have to admit! I am a little disappointed in my skype people's for not being around lol I beef something to do!!!!

Kayla and I walked around a bit to waste time to try and wait for our clock in time. We went to a few different stores found some yummy homemade stuff and an interesting meat deli. They had ham sandywiches. They weren't too bad although I was a bit skeptical about how healthy they might've been lol. Ok well I'm gonna post this and I'll ttyl!!!! Au revoir!
